Comment policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
Shrinkopedia doesn't currently have comments. This policy is published in advance so that the rules are clear if and when we ever enable them.
What's welcome
- Sharing your own experience in your own words.
- Pointing out a factual error, with a source if you have one. You can also use our corrections process.
- Asking a clarifying question about something on the page.
- Adding context that other readers would find genuinely helpful.
What's not
- Medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations directed at other readers.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or attacks on other commenters or named individuals.
- Sharing other people's personal or medical information without their consent.
- Promotion of self-harm, suicide, eating-disorder behaviors, or substance misuse.
- Spam, advertising, affiliate links, or undisclosed commercial promotion, including for other clinicians or practices.
- Off-topic content, repeated posting, or anything illegal.
How comments would be moderated
Comments would be reviewed by a member of the Shrinkopedia editorial team or a designated moderator. We wouldn't be able to review every comment before it appears, but we may edit, hide, or remove comments at any time, and we may restrict or remove accounts that repeatedly break this policy.
Crisis comments
A comments thread isn't a crisis service. If a comment appears to express imminent risk, we may remove it and point the person toward urgent help. If you're in crisis, please use our crisis and safety resources or call or text 988.
No clinician-patient relationship
Comments and any response from us are never medical advice and never create a clinician-patient relationship. For care, please consult a licensed clinician.
Reporting and contact
If you see a comment that doesn't belong, please write to [email protected]. We may update this policy as the site changes; material updates will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
