Corrections and updates
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Shrinkopedia will sometimes get something wrong, or fall behind the evidence. When that happens, we want to fix it openly. This page explains how.
Corrections
If a Shrinkopedia entry contains a factual error, we correct it. When a correction changes the meaning of an entry, we treat it as a real update: the page is revised, it's medically reviewed again, and the dates on the page change to reflect that. We don't quietly edit a page and act as though the earlier version never existed.
Updates
Mental health evidence moves. Guidelines are revised, new research lands, and clinical understanding shifts. Every Shrinkopedia entry carries four dates, published, medically reviewed, sources checked, and last updated, so you can see how current it is. Entries are revisited when the evidence behind them changes.
Correction log
Corrections that change what a page says, newest first. Routine date bumps after a review aren't listed.
- September 29, 2026. The six detailed diagnostic crosswalks listed older ICD-9-CM codes (such as 300.02 for generalized anxiety disorder) as DSM-5-TR codes. DSM-5-TR uses ICD-10-CM codes, so each page now shows the correct code (F41.1 for generalized anxiety disorder). The ICD-11 codes were already correct.
Reporting an error
If you spot something on Shrinkopedia that looks wrong, out of date, or unclear, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the page and what you noticed. We check every report against the sources, correct the page if it's wrong, and update the dates so the change is visible. You don't need to be a clinician to report something. A confusing or possibly inaccurate page is worth flagging either way.
