Community guidelines
Last updated: May 24, 2026
Shrinkopedia doesn't currently host comments, forums, or other community features. These guidelines are published in advance so that the rules of the road are clear if and when we ever add them.
What we expect
If you participate in any Shrinkopedia community feature in the future, you agree to be respectful, accurate, and on-topic. Share your own experience rather than diagnosing others. Treat other people's stories with care. Cite a source when you make a factual claim.
What's not allowed
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeted abuse.
- Sharing other people's personal or medical information without their consent.
- Medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations directed at other readers.
- Promotion of self-harm, suicide, eating-disorder behaviors, or substance misuse.
- Spam, advertising, affiliate links, or undisclosed commercial promotion.
- Content that's illegal, fraudulent, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Impersonation of clinicians, the Shrinkopedia editorial team, or any other person or organization.
Crisis content
A community space isn't a substitute for crisis care. If you're in crisis, please use our crisis and safety resources or call or text 988. We may remove content that appears to express imminent risk and point the person toward urgent help.
How we moderate
We may remove, edit, or hide content that violates these guidelines, and we may suspend or remove accounts that do so repeatedly. We don't pre-screen every contribution, and a piece of content being visible isn't an endorsement of it. If you see something that doesn't belong, please tell us at [email protected].
Changes
We may update these guidelines as features change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
