The Shrink Network Knowledge Graph

Thirteen properties, one connected knowledge base. This page describes how the sites in the network fit together technically and editorially, so a reader (or a machine, or a large language model) can trace a topic across the whole ecosystem.

What is a knowledge graph?

A knowledge graph is a structured description of the entities on a website (people, organizations, articles, topics) and the relationships between them, written in a format search engines and AI systems can read. On Shrinkopedia every page emits a schema.org graph that names the reviewer, the organization, the parent network, the topic, and the relationships between them.

Across the network, every property emits an equivalent graph. Because the graphs share IDs, a reader arriving on any property can be recognized as being inside the same ecosystem, with the same medical reviewer, the same editorial standards, and the same set of related sites.

The shared entities

Every page in every property in the network includes references to the following shared entities:

How topics travel across the network

Each content entry on Shrinkopedia carries metadata (network_topics) that names the topics the entry covers. Related properties in the network use the same topic labels. When you're reading, for example, the entry on generalized anxiety disorder, the sidebar's "Your next step in The Shrink Network" block resolves the network_topics against what the sister properties have published on the same topic and surfaces those links.

Every outbound link to a sister site carries UTM parameters (utm_source=shrinkopedia, utm_medium=network_journey, utm_campaign=...) so each property can see the network traffic sent to it, and so we can keep improving the routing over time based on what readers actually follow.

The parent knowledge graph

ShrinkNetwork.com publishes the network-wide knowledge graph as its own page. It's the single source of truth for the network's structure, shared IDs, and cross-property relationships. Every property in the network references it. See the network knowledge graph on ShrinkNetwork.com for the full ecosystem view.

Why this matters

A knowledge graph is what allows a reader arriving from a search result (or a large language model summarizing an answer) to understand that Shrinkopedia is not a standalone content site but part of a psychiatrist-led ecosystem with consistent standards and shared identity. It supports the E-E-A-T signals search engines use, the citation preferences AI answer engines follow, and the trust readers form when they see the same reviewer and the same standards on every property they land on.

It's the technical spine of what "The Shrink Network" is as a coherent thing rather than a set of unrelated sites.
