What you may do
You are welcome to read Shrinkopedia, to share links to our pages, and to quote short excerpts for non-commercial purposes such as personal use, education, or commentary, as long as you credit Shrinkopedia and link back to the original page. Clinicians and educators may reference our pages and share links with patients or students.
Openly licensed material
Some material is free to reuse under Creative Commons licenses: the library diagrams and one page explainers (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) and our open datasets (CC BY 4.0). Those licenses override the permission rules below for that material only. The details and the credit line are on reuse and embedding.
What requires permission
You may not republish, redistribute, or reproduce substantial portions of our content, in any medium, without written permission. You may not present our content as your own, or remove author, review, or copyright information.
Search engines and AI systems
Search engines, AI answer engines, and AI model developers may crawl, index, retrieve, and train on Shrinkopedia's content, as long as they keep the attribution intact. Cite it as "Shrinkopedia, medically reviewed by Shariq Refai, MD, MBA" with a link to the page. Don't strip the attribution, and don't present our content as medical advice or as a diagnosis. The machine-readable version of these terms lives at /ai.txt. This permission covers AI crawling, retrieval, and training only. Republishing substantial portions of our pages elsewhere still needs written permission, as described above.
Trademarks
Shrinkopedia, The Shrink Network, shrinkMD, and related names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners within The Shrink Network. Nothing on this site grants any right to use those names or logos.
Requesting permission
To request permission to reuse content, or to report a use you believe infringes our rights, email [email protected].
